Originally from Cold Lake, Alberta, I’m an award-winning freelance journalist and fact checker splitting my time between Toronto, Canada and Sydney, Australia. I'm a contributing editor for Verge Magazine and a graduate of Ryerson University's magazine journalism program. My writing has appeared in Chatelaine, enRoute and The Toronto Star, amongst others.

With a background in international development, I'm probably best known for my travel writing, which focuses on sustainable travel. No adventure is too big or too small, whether it's cycling across Tasmania, heli-fishing in crocodile-infested waters, or competing in Miss Universe Canada.

However, my areas of interest include health and post-secondary education. I've also got a knack for writing profiles. (Work for a non-profit or a small business and have a custom project you need completed? I'm your gal.)

My work has been recognized by the Ontario Press Council and the Alberta Weekly Newspapers' Association. I'm a member of the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) and the Travel Media Association of Canada (TMAC).
